MAVESH MAHMUD

Mahvesh Mahmud is our Scholar of the Month Spotlight for July! Mahvesh Mahmud is a Noon Scholar who studied at the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge (2007- 2008) where she was awarded the Lucy Cavendish College’s Kate Bertram Prize for distinction in Management Studies, specifically in the areas of Innovation, Strategy and Organizations.

After her graduation, she returned to Pakistan and obtained her MBA from NUST Business School, Islamabad.

Since returning from the UK, Mahvesh has been an academic. She was a founding member of a business school at the University of Engineering and Technology at Lahore, then was the head of department of School of Education at the Beaconhouse National University and is also an Assistant Professor at the Lahore School of Economics in Lahore. She writes regularly for the daily newspaper and print media and is often consulted for her work in supply chain management (see links at the bottom).

 

Having worked as a manager in the marketing, operations, and human resources departments at various multinational and local firms such as Citibank, ABN AMRO Bank, Communications Enabling Technologies, and Center for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE) and the French oil and gas firm Total-Parco Pakistan Limited, she has gained exposure and experience in various industries. She was also working with the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) where she honed her research skills and has been pivotal in setting up CASE, IBM UET, Beaconhouse National University and departments at Citibank, ABN AMRO Bank, Communications Enabling Technologies, Center for Advanced Studies in Engineering (CASE) and the French oil and gas firm Total-Parco Pakistan Limited. Mahvesh enjoys astronomy, rafting, reading and traveling as hobbies. Mahvesh still fondly remembers her time at Cambridge with the Noon Foundation.
