As we start making Scholar of the Month Spotlights more regular, what could be more fitting than to start with one of our earliest Scholars? Shaista E. Khilji is an inaugural Noon Scholar who graduated from the University of Cambridge with an MPhil (Management) in 1995 and then a PhD (International Management) in 2001.

Since then she has worked as a faculty member at McGill University (Montreal Canada), Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada), and American University (Washington DC, USA). Currently, she is based at the George Washington University (Washington DC, USA) as a Professor of Human and Organizational Learning & International Affairs.

She has dedicated her career to understanding how globalization impacts individuals, organizations, and societies around the world. Between 2012 and 2017, her work focused on highlighting the importance of South Asia in international business. In 2012, she founded the South Asian Journal of Business Studies (Emerald Publications) and served as its Editor-in-Chief. In 2013, she published Globalization, Change, and Learning in South Asia.
